The Effect of Literary Reading Program in Online Learning on Students’ Reading Ability

This study aimed to investigate the effect of literary reading program on students’ abilities. also focused improving skills in inferential and critical context aspects. An experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest was used study. 100 student from fourth semester Extensive Reading Online Class as sample. The researchers purposeful sampling method choosing sample this research. research held at UIN Mataram's English Department March June 2022. Three types data were collected during collection process: 1) documents, 2) observations, 3) tests. technique analyzing t-test two samples paired. findings showed that t-stat value is calculated t-value, which 7,886. While P(T=t) one tail p-value 2.099 one-tail t t-table 1.66. It means (7.886) table (1.66), then Ho rejected H1 accepted. concluded had positive students. show works can be authentic teaching materials learning read English, allowing students understand meaning not only literal level but deeper based context.
